Proof of Concept
If I have one advice to give to aspiring new (or old) creative is this — try creating something physically. Be it a new painting on canvas, printed zine, profile, book or portfolio and anything & everything that you can think of.
I’m a book/publication guy. That’s the one thing if I ever had been to ask leave everything and pick only one, what would it be? It would be that.
I had this idea about a month ago to make a physical version of what I would describe as a pack of “who am I” that consist of 3-piece items: a call card, zine-profile and a portfolio-poster. The picture above was a test print on my inkjet printer after spending about a couple of hours curating the design and content. Manage to complete at least the cover and back-cover (content inside pending at that time) and printed them just to see how it would look like.
That was the actual size plus-minus a few mm difference.
Couple of days later, completed everything and sent to print.
It was satisfying to such an impromptu (slightly planned project.
I guess that’s what being a creative is all about.
Create something out of thin air, from digital to the physical world.
Try it sometime.
Find your niche, passion or new hobby.
The feeling is superb.
